In my opinion Sony gives you the best bang for your buck in all home theater equipment.

Get a Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray DVD Player, it will be good and it has a good sound and picture quality. With remarkable features and versatile performance, the BDP-S300 is an amazing value. The Sony BD-S300 is out of date. It’s “profile 1″.
The replacement is BDS350, but their better unit is the BDS550. Make sure that whatever you buy is profile 1.1 or profile 2.0!

Have you seen the new LG Bluray player? They made a deal with Netflix to stream the latest movies right to your Bluray player. No more trips to the video store. Movies can start 3 minutes after ordering. Nice service, and the Bluray functions well too!
