Playing basketball for an hour or two hours or 60 continuous minutes on an elliptical trainer for exercise?

robert f asked:

Which exercise is healthier and more beneficial to my body? I love to play basketball, but I do not have time for both. Is shooting around for an hour or two good exercise? How does that exercise compare to exercising via an elliptical trainer for 60minutes?

Exercising helped me to lose a pile of weight when I married it together it along with taking acai berry. I understand they say that pills won’t work, however they definitely worked for me, and they have been shown on CBS News too. There’s a free trial on right now at , give it a try, what have you got to lose?

I don’t have any hard facts but the elliptical trainer is better for continuous calories burned and it will get you into good shape. However if you are playing a real game of basketball and not just shooting by yourself that is probably better anaerobic excersize, and much more fun!

Mix it up. Do B-ball one day and elliptical the next, that is the best way to get into shape.

Easy: Basketball. It’s not only higher intensity, it’s also not mind-numbing so you won’t get board and quit so easily.

Both is good but I think basketball a little more because you are working more of your muscles out, while getting the same kind of exercise an eliptical will give you.

Depends how you are playing basketball and what you do on the elliptical. Constant same motion the body will adapt to. If the intensity of the basketball is up tempo, shoot and run to get the rebound, practice driving to the hoop, or an actual game, 1:1 or more.. Then it is probably more exercise.

Look, either one is good. If you are more likely to do the BBall, do that.

If you are trying to lose weight or get in better shape, then you might look at your fitness goals differently.
