Webcam is inoperative
If H-P can't be bothered to fix or even respond to the many users pointing out that the webcam does not work, it makes everything else about this machine suspect.

Best Netbook Yet
HP has hit a homerun looks/design wise with the Mini 1000 series. Build quality is excellent considering the low price, definitely as sturdy as any other full notebook I've owned (HP zd7000, Dell XPS M1330). I chose this netbook primarily for the sleek design...it's the lightest 10" netbook I believe. In my humble opinion, every other netbook looks like a cheapy notebook. The HP Mini really does look/feel more expensive than it is...almost Mac like, dare I say.

#1 Keyboard
Weighing in at 2.38 pounds the HP 1035NR Netbook rings up major points with an almost full sized keyboard. HP made a positive move from the extremely slow Via processor to the somewhat faster Intel Atom. As far as screen resolution goes, I found that it seemed to be lower then previous models. If you are a big fan of glossy screens you are in luck.

Solid HP netbook that can only get better
The previous reviews of the HP Mini 1000 have covered the details well. I chose the HP Mini 1000 for two reasons; the keyboard design/size and the overall packaging (the look).

Since I bought the netbook as a demo system for showing off cloud-based applications, I have made it a point to always bring a wireless mouse (USB receiver) since the trackpad is virtually useless for my size hand and thumb. That said, the HP team will need to consider adding another USB port to support .... Read more

My wife got me this for Christmas. This little thing is great. Upgraded the ram to 2gb for only $25. With the hard drive can load all kinds of software. Keyboard is great. The screen is very sharp. Can take it anywhere. I have a mini usb mouse and together it rocks. Highly recommend this little guy. .... Read more
