Excellent computer, poor otherwise
I have had this for a week. I kept the computer since it has a lot of good features, including the discrete video card, large HDD, comfortable keyboard (except for the right shift key being too small for such an important key), and I would gladly change this review rating if ASUS ever decides to send me the "included optical drive" that is missing. "Missing" External Optical Drive
I recently received the ASUS N10J and its External Optical Drive was missing; Amazon customer service directed me to ASUS. The Optical Drive (USB connected) is referenced within the User manual (and also in various industry reviews I have read).

Awesome Netbook. Worth the extra money.
The Asus N10j is an awesome little machine.
I was looking to buy a super portable yet inexpensive machine for travel and none of the "netbooks" met my requirements. I wantesd dedicated graphics, 2gb ram, big hard drive, etc The NJ10j has all of these and more. It even comes with accidental damage protection! .... Read more

Perfect Upgrade for eee PC 1000H
If you are thinking about buying eee PC 1000H, but don't like the facts that 1000H gets only 1G RAM (vs. 2G), 160G HDD (vs. 320G) and Xp Home (vs. Xp Pro. or Vista,) AND you can afford to upgrade it into your ideal configuration, then you can save the time and effort by buying n10 instead.
It costs a little more with all fully upgraded 1000H's features plus a video card AND a finger print reader AND a more sturdy shell AND a more comfortable keyboard.

The gaming netbook
Who cares if it's a netbook or notebook. It's freaking awesome!
The Intel Atom CPU is almost identical in performance to the Pentium M. My 2.0GHz Pentium M is just slightly faster than the Atom 1.6GHz.
The little Atom CPU works well for gaming if you switch Power4Gears (overclocking software from ASUS) to Turbo Mode, the CPU jumps to 1.75GHz. I tried overclocking it with a third party program but it kept turning off my network cards. (i know, right?)
