I have an elliptical trainer, can i lose 80 pounds with it?

I have started an exercise program along with a diet routine, i started this on march 16th and already have lost 11 pounds, i want to lose 80 more. i am right now doing 2 miles on the elliptical trainer along with crunches, push ups, ball squats and other things, any suggestions on how many miles i will have to do on it to lose 80 pounds?

    WOW! You go girl! Keep it up, you’re going to lose 80 lbs for sure! Add a healthy diet to that and a thinner you is in the future!

    become a vegetarian. revolve your diet around fruits vegetables meat replacements (tofu beans and brands like kashi quorn morningstar farms amys yves and helens kitchen) and whole grains. you can eat a lot and still lose a lot of weight

    You can absolutely lose the weight (that is if you actually have it to lose) as you get closer to your goal you will find yourself reaching natural plateaus and that will be your clue to step up the intensity of your workouts- either by adding a mile or two or by doing some interval/sprinting work and double checking your diet to make sure you aren’t lapsing. Healthy weight loss is about .5 to 2 pounds per week, so the middle of that is about 1.25 pounds taking the average and dividing it by how much weight you desire to lose I’d say you can be to your goal in about 64 weeks or 15 months. Mind you that is just an estimate. It may seem like a long time, but healthy and gradual loss is more likely to be permanent then quick fixes.
