How to play an ipod using an aux jack?

Papi asked:

I have a Kenwood in-dash cd/mp3 player with and aux jack on the face. When i plug my ipod to it, it doesn’t play over the car speakers.

I’m not familiar with kenwood, but do you have a selection button, that when pushed will say AUX on the display panel? If so, that’s how. If not, maybe that Aux jack is only for output and not input, like say to an AMP?

On my vehicles, I used a $30 fm transmitter from walmart, which lasted a little while, but was flimsy and broke a few times. Just had to plug it into the cigarette lighter, then it came with a jack for the mp3 player, and then broadcast on about 4 selectable fm frequencies, directly to the radio antenna. fairly effective. good luck.

in order to get the AUX jack to work plug in the player and press play on the player and then hold the CD button on the radio it will switch to the IPOD. hope this helps
