I recently found it on the web that firms who instal GPS systems on their fleet are on their way to reduce fuel cost in an ever rising fuel price times.
How does this work?

Hmm… It can plot out the most direct routes? People get lost less often? Saves fuel? That’d be my guess.

i dont really understand that but I think they mean that because they can monitor where their drivers are actually driving they can make sure no unnecessary pit stops are made that can waste company gas money.

Either that or the GPS systems help show the drivers the shortest most efficient routes to their destination.

No, the GPS can not magically improve your gas mileage lol.

Quicker routes…less gas….you aren’t getting lost and wasting gas to get back where you should be?

    here is the article.

Yet, are you still wondering how these gps navigational systems can help you save on gas? Think about it for a moment. If they can help you to always find the shorter routes to your destinations, you will be saving on time and on fuel costs because you won’t be taking the longer routes or wasting time going around in circles looking for that exact address you need.

simply because with a GPS (global positioning system) through satellite technology allows you to key in a destination you want to travel to and provides the shortest way to get there. So by driving for less time, you save more petrol thus having to re-fuel less often then if you were to have a longer drive reaching the same destination.

    Hope I Helped.

How do you mean that. In general, or just taking shorter routes. Cars with GPS systems have a worse fuel economy. But in a way it will help showing the gas station with the lowest fuel prices and it will show you quickest route to.

They are able to find the shortest path to their destination with the GPS system.
