    They where not very accurate, but they seemed really amazing to people when they first came out. They where pretty stupid compared to what we have now!

    I have used some made about 7-8 years ago and they were about 15-20 feet from accurate.

    they were as accurate as they are now. the United States government put on a deliberate interference signal to prevent the general public from getting a fix closer than about 100 feet. Land Surveyors and others with need for precision could get a correction number to use after the fact of measurement. I think Clinton ordered the interference turned off.
