Works like a champ!
This is a great simple to use car/truck stereo. I like the duel control for the ipod. It plays "home made" cd's very well. I compared it to the Sony and the JVC was a winner hands down. The ipod cable is run to my glove box - so no one knows I am listening to my ipod in my truck. It even charges your ipod while you are driving down the road. The remote is very small and easy to use. It comes with a case for the face plate, the remote, battery for the remote and the owners manual. I am very happy .... Read more

It's Okay
This product is okay except the button to change folders and songs is too small if you want to use MP3 CDs. I don't know how many times I meant to hit the song skip button and hit folder skip instead. When skipping on a regular CD, the folder skip button does nothing. .... Read more

Not Perfect but Darn Close
I've had this car stereo / ipod player for about 2 weeks now and I'm very satisfied. It's easier to program and operate than it at first looked and I love the dual mode of ipod control (from the stereo or the ipod). But as far as doing what I got it to do -- play my ipod in the car -- it's great. .... Read more

Only Works with Older iPods According to Company
I asked the JVC pre-sales about the nano 3rd gen and they said it would work.

I bought one and the ipod controls do NOT work.

The only nanos certified to work are:
This unit is only compatible with the following iPod:
IPod mini
IPod G4
IPod photo
IPod nano (1st and 2nd generation)
IPod with video (5th generation)

Nice, but beware!
Over all this is a nice stereo. Sound quality is excellent, the iPod support is a rare find, and over all this stereo is well worth it.

Beware, however: Since this stereo is relatively new, if you lose the faceplate(or it gets stolen), there are no replacements. If you lose it, you are left with a $100 shiny brick.

Caveat emptor. .... Read more
